A Free Community Experience

Curious about Kundalini Yoga? Join us for a complimentary introductory class and discover why this powerful practice is known as the Yoga of Awareness.

This welcoming community experience is designed for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Through intentional movement, breathwork, meditation, relaxation, and mantra, you’ll explore techniques that help strengthen the nervous system, cultivate self-awareness, and promote greater balance throughout daily life.

At Valley Care Wellness Center, we are excited to introduce Kundalini Yoga as a potential weekly offering. This free class gives our community the opportunity to experience the practice firsthand while helping us shape future programming.

Meet Your Instructor

Meg Long began practicing yoga in 2003 while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya, East Africa. She became a yoga teacher in 2010 after completing trauma-informed training focused on serving prisons, domestic violence shelters, rehabilitation centers, and recovery communities.

Meg is a 200-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) through Yoga Alliance and holds a Level 2 (500-hour) Kundalini Yoga certification through the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) and Yoga Alliance. She also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Public Health Sciences Department and Honors College at New Mexico State University and leads an annual Kundalini Yoga and Sound Bath retreat in Quimixto, Mexico.

Her approachable teaching style creates a supportive environment where students of all experience levels can explore the practice safely and confidently.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Known as the Yoga of Awareness, Kundalini Yoga combines precise movement sequences called kriyas with breathwork, meditation, relaxation, and mantra. Together, these practices are designed to strengthen the nervous system, balance the glandular system, cultivate self-awareness, and help individuals navigate life with greater resilience, clarity, and purpose.
